Donald Ross Owner Operator
Donald has been working on British cars for more years than he cares to remember, having served a 5 year apprenticeship in a BMC garage in his native Scotland. He went on to work on all makes and models, and he also worked on trucks and buses for several years, before becoming self employed with a workshop right beside his house. Then the travel bug was getting to him and he signed a contract to go to Zambia and work in the transport department in one of the copper mines. By the time his first contract was up, Donald knew that he might never go back to Scotland on a permanent basis. By the time he left the copper mines, he was in charge of the transport department in Chibuluma mine. With approximately 150 men reporting to him, there was complete responsibility for all sorts of vehicles and equipment.
Donald arrived in North Carolina in December 1979 and has worked for himself most of the time, apart from a few years at a Saab dealership, for the past 20 plus years he was known as Ross Restoration and Repair, but with moving into the 21st century and having a web site the name has been changed to Classic British Auto and Donald only works on British Cars which have been so near and dear to his heart from the very start of his career.
When asked why I have never advertised in the local area, I prefer to work on the principle that word of mouth is by far the best advertising and has kept me busy for many years, so even though I now have this website, there will be no billboard advertising to announce it as customer satisfaction is first and foremost in my business.
